If you don't find a vacation or resort in the "Select A City" link for your area, we do not have a listing for that city. As resorts, travel agents and vacation spots list their businesses, their city will show in the "Select A City" location. But we have provided you with the link above to insure you can get the best discount travel deals on the Internet.

Every state has something unique to offer tourists. Find out what our state has to offer by checking The Vacation Directory for vacation packages, and travel agents.
Family vacations can be expensive, but many travel agents and resorts offer discount rates that can help you make the most of your time and money. Or maybe you are looking for a relaxing vacation with plenty of opportunities to just see the tourist attractions or state parks in a leisurely way. Whatever you need, start your search here.
From the mixed pine/hardwood rolling hills to bottomland hardwoods near river beds, from flood plains and deltas to cypress swamps, wildlife habitats in Louisiana are both rich and varied. Statewide, hunters take more than 150,000 whitetail deer per year as well as abundant small game. Louisiana's coastal zone has 4 million acres of waterfowl-rich marshlands which support unrivaled populations of migratory birds. The flatlands north of the marshlands also offer outstanding goose hunting. In addition, quail, dove, teal, rail, gallinule, turkey, snipe and woodcock are all plentiful. All told there's an eight-month hunting season: it begins with dove in early September and goes right through to turkey in April.
Fishermen beware: fishing in Louisiana is more than a pastime. It's a passion, a way of life. The Gulf of Mexico and its brackish-water coastal marsh regions have made Louisiana the nation's top source of shrimp, blue crab, oysters and other seafoods, and you'll enjoy passing the colorful shrimp boats as you head out for another fishing adventure around the oil rigs that dot the Gulf. By trolling around the rigs or anchoring for some casting, you'll find yourself bringing in brag-size tarpon, cobia, snapper, yellowfin tuna, Spanish and king mackerel, sailfish, blue marlin, wahoo and even pompano. If you don't have a boat, relax. Charters are available all across the coast, and there are piers, wharves, bridges and jetties that give you easy access to spotted sea trout, redfish and many of the same species that are caught farther out. When you're ready for freshwater fishing, your choices are varied and exciting: the Atchafalaya Basin, Toledo Bend Reservoir, numerous "oxbow lakes" like False River and Lake Bruin near the Mississippi; and scenic, swampy backwater lakes like Lake Bistineau and Black Lake. Teeming with fish and shaded with moss-draped cypress, these swamps and lakes offer easy access and great action. Fishing guide services are available in some freshwater marsh areas, bayous and inland lakes, Toledo Bend and other lakes around the state.
Mardi Gras is our most famous celebration, a statewide party unrivaled anywhere in this country. The Mardi Gras season begins on January 6 the Twelfth Night Feast of the Epiphany and ends on "Fat Tuesday" (Mardi Gras day), which is always set to occur 46 days before Easter. But Mardi Gras is only one of our big festivals. In spring, you'll celebrate the pirate Jean Lafitte and the state's link to international French cultures. In summer, many towns and cities in South Louisiana celebrate Bastille Day, commemorating the beginning of the French Revolution. Fishing rodeos are another mainstay of the summer celebration calendar.
